[Help]Still waiting on root device?

So since my clover install was hitting a dead-end, I decided to try something a bit different. I used unibeast to make a Yosemite install on an MBR drive & chameleon bootloader.

Now it boots past PCI Configuration begin*, but hangs a little ways after with the message "Still waiting for root device" popping up every minute or so.

I have my SATA controller set to AHCI mode. I have replaced the yosemite AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext with the 10.9.5 versions.

Can anyone offer any possible hints?

*Suggests the clover problem is in my config.plist somewhere, I think...but jesus that's ridiculously complicated & cryptic
