Here's the deal. My friend had a perfectly working OSX install with the newest El Cap and Clover. Somehow during a random Clover update the EFI partition was corrupted. It was listed as (null) under /Volumes/ and there was no data -- I could only boot it using safemode.
I downloaded a live version of gparted and attempted to fix the EFI partition.. I unchecked/rechecked the boot flags.. rebooted in safe mode, renamed the EFI partition just in Finder and tried copying my backup EFI folder to the partition. Still wouldn't boot.
I then formatted that partition hoping to start over. Now I can't get the machine to boot at all -- can't even get to the Clover Bootloader anymore. How can I fix this without starting over completely? I made a new bootable version of El Cap using the newest clover .. so I can boot from that. But it won't load the installer or anything. I'm sort of at a loss now.
I have a backup of the EFI partition. I have access to other computers.. including other working hackintoshes.. I just don't know how to redo the EFI partition without redoing the main partition.. Any help would be great!
tldr: please help me redo ONLY the efi partition. i screwed it up somehow.
