So, I have the following setup:

  • HDD Sata 500gb -> Windows 7
  • HDD Sata 80gb -> Mac El Capitan 10.11.4
  • Gigabyte H61M-S1 Motherboard UEFI Compatible
  • Intel i5 3.0ghz
  • Nvidia GeForce 630 GT 1gb
  • 12gb of RAM

So, I've managed to create my El Capitan USB and installed it on the desired HDD. Did the post installation with Multibeast and had to manually install some kexts to make audio work properly - everything else worked fine.

However, I was never able to boot it trough Clover Bootloader. I've tried to install both the UEFI and standard editions bot none of them work. When I try to boot either Windows or Mac trough them, I always end up in a black screen or in a Prohibitive sign.

  • The only way to boot Windows is to manually select my boot device and chose the Windows HDD and it works fine.
  • The only way to boot to El Capitan is to manually select my USB El Capitan stick as boot device and then it loads clover bootloader: and I choose "Boot El Capitan from HDD" option and it works.

I accepted it and it's been working until now. For some reason, my screen resolution suddently got messed up and it thinks the best resolution for my VGA 22' Monitor is 800 x 600. Also, the ideal 1600 x 900 resolution is not available on El Capitan by any means, including Screen Resolution Apps.

  • How can I fix this boot issues as wells as the screen resolution issues?

Thanks in advance
