Backstory:

Hi all, I recently posted at /r/buildapc regarding a potential gaming rig I had in mind.

Well since then, my friend whom also recently built a rig has made me aware how much easier it is to build a hackintosh these days! That was something I simply couldn't miss out on, what with a fresh boot drive of Mavericks just lying around.

I've done a bit of reading on the basics, I understand some of it but figured I'd ask direct questions and also post a hardware list to see compatibility etc.

1) The drivers. I've noticed people say there are issues occur when they do software updates etc. One in particular I found was BIOS related. Do the drivers update..? Is that automatic? Just more info on how they work would be amazing.

2) Two Hard drives, separate OS'. Bit of a basic question but I want two HD's. One for windows gaming and the other as a mac partition. They will operate as two separate boot drives? Or will it need to be bootcamp? Unsure how the boot priority will take care of that etc. Can they literally be two separate and just hold Alt on startup?

3) AMD GPU. I understand that the CPU's are not recommended though how do the GPUs fair? I noticed after a quick google, the one I was considering may not work (didn't for someone else).

4) Good screen. I want a display as good as a Mac one but also big. I considered a second hand Mac display but anything. I have also looked a Sharp Monitor LCD panel (see build list). Anything of this quality for a good budget? My mate keeps telling me QNIX but I'm not sure this will have the fidelity I need and dead pixels will bug me a lot. Though the 1440p rest (or more) does very much appeal to me.

So any information or useful reads are recommended. I've read the basic guide on lifehacker and scanned through some of the links on the sidebar here. Tonymacx86's guide on Mavericks makes it look ridiculously easy? o_O Any early adopters of maverick hacks able to comment on that?

Notes: I am open to a z77 and i5 setup consideration. I am simply wanting to make use of the Mavericks-Haswell advantage and adding a bit of support for the future. I also read the x79 is great. Budget/impatiences may dictate I need to go in lower anyway.

I would love an intuitively designed case like this. However this is not big enough for my mobo? I have no need for an optical drive though.

Am also aware the PSU is overkill. Actually couldn't find the one I will be using though it is overpowered for future expansions and builds.
