First off, let me state my long-term goals: I want to build a high end triple-boot system (OSX 10.9/Windows/Linux) that can drive three monitors. By "high-end" I'm thinking around the area of Tonymac's "Customac Pro," because I have a 4-core i7 mbp with an ssd, and my desktop obviously must be better than that! (also because I want to play windows games) So I have a few noobie questions:
Is it possible to drive three external monitors with a hackintosh? I ask because it is tricky to do with a mbp (only possible spending $2k on 2 thunderbolt displays + internal monitor). I love mavericks new multi-monitor support, and would absolutely love three monitors on OSX.
I have only briefly looked at hardware because I want to minimize problems as much as possible, as this is my first pc build ever and I am much less experienced at diagnosing these things than many of you. I think I would opt for the i7 cpu, 32 gbs ram, and GTX 760, as recommended. Are there any tweaks you would suggest to tonymac's customac pro?
Call me flashy, but I would also like my system to look good. I know tonymac doesn't think it's possible, but do you think it may be possible to fit tonymac's customac pro into a bitfenix prodigy case. I like how compact they are and would be willing to sacrifice cable-managment for that added compactness.
How is it hackintosh supports 32 gb ram when I have only heard of osx ever supporting a maximum 16 gb ram? (and that's even unofficially).
Would I be able to use my apple keyboard and magic mouse with the new system, or would I need to purchase a non-bluetooth option? I ask in case hackintoshes do not have as seamless of bluetooth keyboard/mouse support as default mac machines do.
Obviously, I have lofty goals, and I plan for this to be a big project, but on the other hand, I want to streamline the debugging process as much as possible. Any feedback you may offer is greatly appreciated!
