...and once I got my USB just about right using the Vanilla guide and booted using -v -f, I was able to get to the installation screen and install OS X onto my SSD.


Now, I'm trying to copy over the necessary kexts to the main system by booting into the install USB again and using the terminal there, but now for some reason the boot always just ends up with a black screen, for as long as I care to leave it.


So why doesn't booting the USB work any longer? I haven't made any changes to it (that I know of), and the only difference is that the hard drive has Mac on it now instead of Windows.


Any ideas?


More details on InsanelyMac... this is the thread that inspired me to try this out, as it seems to be somewhat working for other people with the 1520.
