Story Time

I hope I'm not violating any rediquette rules by posting this. I read the FAQs as well as sidebars looking to see if this type of post (i.e. selling my hackintosh) is allowed. I didn't see anything so please excuse me if I made an error.

Back in March of this year, I was hired as a consultant for a digital ad agency to work with their strategy team. I mainly worked from home but everyone at the main office used an Apple computer, and I was fresh out of grad school with my PC. There was a lot of keynotes being created and I needed to get a Mac.

Since I had to pay for my own gear and I was a newly graduated student, I thought making a Hackintosh would be a great way to get a computer for work on the cheap.

I built a Hackintosh using TonyMacx86's CustoMac Mini as my guide and followed the directions as best as I could but it was a pain getting the software loaded since I didn't have any Apple computers at home, and I didn't have any friends close by that I could borrow their Macs to get the OS source files. It was a pain for the numerous back and forth trips but eventually I got it up and running and it worked really great.

After about two months, I got a bubble telling me that the OS had an update ready for me. I clicked it, and after the update, I couldn't get the keyboard to work. I looked around in forums, posted here in reddit, trying to figure out how to fix it to no avail. After a week of borrowing friends computers to get Apple new files to attempt to fix my own, and trying over and over to fix it, I just said "F THIS" and ponied up the money to buy a MacBook.

Since then, my CustoMac Mini has been sitting in my room, fully built, and untouched. The parts are practically brand new since I only used it for around 2 months. I spent probably around $500ish on I literally have no use for it now that I have my MacBook. Since I'm still a starving post grad student, I'd like to see if there is any interest in someone who would like to buy a CustoMac Pre Made, that just needs to have the latest TonyMacx86 software loaded up and reset up. I would do it myself, but to be completely honest, I got so tired of trying to fix and build this thing, and now that I've got a MacBook, I literally have no desire nor time to try to F with this thing anymore.

If there are any questions or if anyone is interested, please let me know.

And if i violated any redditquette, let me apologize again. I didn't know where else to post this.

EDIT: Grammar and clarity.
