Mouse and keyboard won't respond on boot up; loads into white background with apple logo. What do I do?

I've looked over at tonymac and googled until my head hurt, but I can't find the solution to this.

Let me run this down:

1. Wife can't open optical drive. She needs it urgently. Ok, let's troubleshoot.


2. Find what appears to be a solution (IOAHCIFamily and AppleAHCIPort kexts)


3. Download Kextbeast and throw those two kexts on the desktop for it to install. They install, and we restart.

Now, the computer will NOT respond to any mouse click or keyboard press at ANY point from two different mouses and keyboards. F12 won't load me into BIOS, and I cannot enter any bootflags.

What the hell do I do?!
