I recently purchased all new components, and after a little research, realized that they are compatible to become a hackintosh.

  • i7 4770k

  • Asus Z87-A

  • G Skill 16gb 1600

  • Asus GTX 670

  • Sandisk 128gb SSD

  • WD Blue 1 TB

After doing some more research I have read that it is preferred to purchase a separate SSD (one for Windows and one for Mac), but I have also read that it is not necessary. My SSD is 128gb so obviously big enough to fit both OS's if partitioned.

  1. Is spending the extra 70-100 on another SSD necessary?

  2. Do I need another HDD as well or is a partitioned 1TB fine?

BONUS! Thanks for reading this far. I have one more concern. I am still a little curious on the whole setup of the UEFI and how configuration for OSX effects the configuration for Windows. Are they both the same? If I change UEFI parts to work for OSX, will it not work for Windows? When I boot through Chimera does it automatically change the setup of the mobo depending on what OS I pick? I really have no idea here just help me to understand.
