So I had a working, stable, really nice HTPC style hackintosh running 10.9 on a GA-Z87X-UD5H. 8 Hard drives of video, music and photos. Very nice rig.
I had planned on adding a ATi 6850 card (which I had from a previous build) eventually to allow some better gaming performance.
Installing the card was easy and the system booted right back up. Except the USB ports were non-functional, including the BT dongle attached to it. The ports still showed up in system profiler but they didn't actually function... I removed the card - no change, the ports are "there" but don't function. Not in 10.9, not in Windows 7, not in the BIOS menu with no hard drives installed.
I am currently remoting onto the computer to control it because no keyboard or mouse will function attached to it, much less mount an external drive or other devices...
Be careful out there, hackintosh land is strange place.
