Hey. My PSU's have been failing on me at an alarming rate (two down since July) and I couldn't figure out why. Well, I leave my computer on all the time and I have been letting it fall asleep on it's own. Everything seemed fine; the monitor would go black. But after playing around with my sleep settings just now I realized that my computer may not be auto sleeping correctly.
When the computer auto sleeps, the fans on the inside still hum. When I manually put it to sleep, it's silent as a fox. No doubt, the PSU is consuming more power so this may have led to a couple very early deaths. Just thought I'd share.
