My primary computer is a Hackintosh I built several years back. Since Day 1 it randomly freezes, and I've lost at least 3 hard drives because of it. I'd really, really like to get this figured out and fixed. Any help is much appreciated.

All of the settings are also shown here.

I don't think the freezing is OS-specific, as several others with the same motherboard, settings, and boot loader are not having issues.

I cannot seem to figure out a reason for the freezes, although it seems to happen more frequently when I'm watching video (i.e. YouTube). When it does happen while I'm watching video, it'll play the sound of about the last 1/2 second over and over and over again, like a record skipping.

I've run some computer testing software (Tech Tools, PC Check, etc.) and they yield no answers.

Thank God for backups, or I would have lost everything several times over by now, as usually a hard reset of the computer brings things back exactly where they were, but three or four times, it's resulted in damaging hard disks so badly, that I now have them sitting off on a shelf to be used as paperweights.

Other than building a new PC, can anyone think of a solution, or a test to find the problem?
