Hi,

I've recently been seriously looking into building my first PC and making it a Hackintosh. I came across this (here: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/06/hackintosh-graphics-cards.html, ):

However, compatibility isn't uniform: the 500 series is only supported in Lion and Mountain Lion, the 600 series is only supported in Mountain Lion and version 10.7.5 of Lion, and the 700 series is only supported in Mavericks and version 10.8.4+ of Mountain Lion.

Now I already know that the 600-series does actually work under 10.9, but I'm still worried that – after setting it up completely the way I want it with everything fully functional – an update for OS X comes along which prevents me from updating past a certain version of the OS. This would of course severely limit the system's future.

I know no one can say what Apple might decide to do in the future, but could someone give me an idea of what has happened in the past regarding compatibility of different components, GPU's in particular?

Thanks!
