So I recently ordered parts for my new build and while I'm waiting for the last few parts I figured I would make a bootable hackintosh drive just so I have it ready.

I tried following the guide at tonymacx86 and getting Mavericks from the appstore but I can't. I have two old macs, a 2007ish mac mini and an old white macbook laptop, The mac mini is on snow leopard and the macbook is on Lion but I can't download Maverick on either because of the dated hardware, it's free and everything but the appstore just won't let me download it. Basically I have access to two Macs, one with snow leopard, one with lion but I can't download Mavericks from the appstore.

Can I spoof the appstore into thinking I have newer hardware?I keep seeing people mention SMbios and hardware ID's but I can't figure out what to do with that. I also tried torrenting a copy of Mavericks and using that instead with the unibeast installed but it didn't work either.

Can I spoof the appstore into thinking I have a newer mac that's compatiable for the Maverick upgrade?

Can I use another installer and use a torrented copy of the Maverick installer? Will myHack/kakewalk/another installer work for this?

Can I force unibeast to work with a non-appstore version of the Maverick installer?

I might still have the DVD for either leopard or snow leopard but I have no DVD drive. Can I create a bootable USB version of leopard, upgrade to snow leopard, download Mavericks then upgrade to that?

Should I just install Gentoo instead? /that'sajoke

Anyways thanks for all the help.
