Hi all,
I am trying to put Mavericks (downloaded before yesterday's update) on my Acer Aspire 8943G. The Acer has two hard drives, one that runs windows 7, and one that has been wiped and in Mac Os Extended (journaled).
For this, I'm using the Tonymacx86 guide for 10.9: http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html
I can get the Acer to begin installing OSX on the second harddrive, but about 15-20 minutes in it fails.
One thing I haven't been able to figure out is step 3:
"STEP 3: Recommended UEFI Settings
If you're installing on a recommended CustoMac desktop with AMI UEFI, the options are simple. For other systems make sure to set your BIOS or UEFI to Optimized Defaults, and your hard drive to AHCI mode. Award BIOS settings are listed here.
- To access BIOS/UEFI Setup, press and hold Delete on a USB Keyboard while the system is booting up
- Set to Optimized Defaults.
- (Optional) Set X.M.P. Memory Profile to Profile1
- If your CPU supports VT-d, disable it
- Save and exit. "
The hardwire is already set to AHCI mode, but I can't access the other options....
