I've read in different places that while the packaged installers and helper applications are user friendly, they don't give the user insight into what's happening. So I thought I should do what the installers handle myself. I have experience with unix and programming, so I thought I should be able to handle it.
I just haven't been able to find a guide anywhere. Do any of you know an up to date one? If not, could you give me a quick overview so I know what to look up?
