Sorry if this seems like a useless post to some people but I just wanted to share how easy it was to get my Hackintosh up and running when I have no experience with OSX. I had a little experience with Ubuntu before but I'm generally on Windows so this was a new thing for me.
I had the urge to Hackintosh after building a new gaming pc, and coming across a post on another forum about it.
From a fresh Windows install, it was as easy as putting the Niresh Mavericks build onto a USB stick, rebooting my pc, and booting off the stick. The only glitches I encountered were one where OSX wouldn't format a partition, so I used Partition Manager on Win7 (or PartitionMagic, I forget) to format the 100gb partition on my 2TB boot drive as HFS+, then OSX installed perfectly. After install I had to add GraphicsEnabler=No to the boot menu and after that OSX loaded fine and I have no problems with anything. Full sound, internet etc, all working fine.
My hardware wasn't chosen for this purpose, so I'm surprised it works this well! If anyone wants to build something similar, my hardware list is as follows:
*i5-4670K *Asus Z87-Plus *8GB G.Skill 2133mhz DDR3 *Gigabyte Windforce GTX 770 2GB *Seagate 2TB Barracuda (Black edition) *XFX Core 750W Pro 80+ Bronze PSU *Samsung DVDRW
Edit: Formatting doesn't seem to work? Sorry for the block of text, that's supposed to be a list!
