I used the UniBeast method of installing Mavericks 10.9.3 (the Mac App Store Version). Here are the specs:
MOBO: MSI B85M-G43 (VT-d disabled, XMP enabled, in AHCI mode) CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 (Haswell) SSD: 128GB (currently GUID partitioned in half, one HFS+, the other is free space)
From this page, I patched the mach_kernel with both the xcpm and lapic patches. This was after I was not able to get past Chimera and into the installation screen.
After the patch, I tried several different combinations of boot flags after this and ended up with:
- (a) flashing the 'grey Apple logo on white' screen then instantly rebooting
- (b) gets to 'Apple logo screen' then the loading pinwheel starts until a kernel panic (not always the same cause) occurs and freezes the system
- (c) gets past 'Apple logo screen' to blank light grey screen with Apple mouse cursor. the cursor then becomes a rainbow pinwheel and never progresses past this point
- (d) same as c, except after pinwheel disappears (back to cursor) it loads a darker grey screen (with gradient) that eventually loads the installer
Obviously, after I got (d) I installed the system onto my drive. I restarted my system, but when I went to select Mavericks from Chimera it only did (a, instant reboot). I can't recall which boot flags I used to properly load the installer so I no longer have access to that either, can only get (c).
Does anyone have any ideas/help?
