I have the USB boot disk made and when I boot it in legacy BIOS it boots fine. Sometimes it beach balls, but its OK to boot sometimes. When I go through the menus, and try to select the install location, my ssd is not showing up.

I have gone into disk utility and it doesn't show up there either.

I went back to the BIOS and noticed that it was set to raid, I changed it to ahci, but I get a white screen after boot and it beach balls. Doesn't even make it to the start of the installations screen.

Went back into BIOS and it was back to raid. Is this normal? Is it booting on ahci, but returning to raid when I go back into the BIOS?

Is there a workaround to get the BIOS to stick to ahci. If not, is it possible to get osx to recognise my ssd when the sata controller type is set to raid?

Thanks guys,

Niall.
