Thank you for taking the time to take a look! I'll be buying the components over the next 2 weeks, so I have some time to tweak further and hope a deal or two come along.
Inspiration
Function:
- Windows/OSx compatible
- 40% photo editing, video editing, graphics, eventually 3D modeling
- 40% basic work station and media consumption
- 20% gaming (SC2, LOL, TF2, Diablo 3, Portal...) I haven't played any new games b/c have been on a dinosaur laptop from 2007 and did not want to ruin the experience with shitty graphics and lag. Open call for game suggestions!
Design Goals:
- Compact - Unfortunately, I am not that into the RVZ01B's look. I would prefer an NCase M1/M2 or a Steam Machine case but alas... might use the CoolerMaster Elite 110 as a place holder instead until I can find or make my dream slim SFF case at max 7 liters, not that into cubes either :(.
- Portable - Plug and play setup, durable.
- Silent - Efficient thermal design, low power requirements
- Tidy - Logical cable management.
Other ish:
Pretty firm on the $2k budget.
I am not experienced with over clocking and not currently interested, however, this build will ideally last me 5 to 6 years with out any significant upgrades (bump up to 2560×1600 display sooner?) - I might appreciate the over clock option later and consider a "k" cpu?
Important: On account that it needs to be OSx compatible I would prefer to not stray too far from this build.
