I can't get bluetooth working on my hackintosh.
I have:
•GA-Z87X-UD5 TH
•Mavericks 10.9.4
•Intel Core i7 4770K
•GeForce GTX 760
•32GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Ram
•250GB SSD Samsung 840 EVO
•3TB Seagate HDD
•IOGear GBU521 Bluetooth Dongle
I know people say they haven't been able to get the internal bluetooth working on this board, so after giving up on some tinkering (which got Mavericks to at least recognize the internal bluetooth, but couldn't see devices) I decided to pick up an IOGear GBU521 Bluetooth dongle, but I can't seem to get it to work.
I downloaded Bluetooth Explorer, but can't seem to switch to the IOGear controller. I hit activate, and enter my password, but nothing happens. If it makes any difference, when I open Bluetooth Explorer, the log says "updateChainPower error: 82"
Anyone have an ideas? Is there a kext I could install? Is there a way to just disable the internal bluetooth so it only sees the dongle? I've seen mention that you should plug the bluetooth dongle into a USB 2.0 slot, but for better or worse, I only have USB 3.0 slots (including the ones on my case).
Thanks in advance, any help will be appreciated.
