Hey all. My case has two 3.5 mm jacks in the front. When on my Windows 8.1 drive, I use the lower jack for my headphones. On my OS X 10.9.4 drive, though, it only recognizes headphones plugged into the upper jack, and then it only plays sound out of my left ear (for the record, the same thing happens in the upper jack in Windows). I assume that means that the upper jack is mono and meant only for microphones. Is that the case?
And in any case, could you help me get my Hackintosh to recognize headphones in the lower jack, so I can enjoy some good ol' stereo sound?
Here's my build, based on tonymacx86's January buyer's guide. And this was my setup process:
- Put together a UniBeast 4.0.2 install drive on a 16 GB USB stick using the interactive guide
- Chose neither support option during the UniBeast installation
- Stuck the USB in my Hackintosh hopeful and booted to it
- Partitioned one of my two 1 TB hard drives like so
- Ran the OS X Mavericks installer
- Upon restart, booted to the UniBeast USB drive, then to the new OS X hard drive from there
- Downloaded and launched MultiBeast 6.4.2
- Chose the DSDT free quick start option
- Ended up with this configuration; installed
- Rebooted directly to the OS X drive and encountered this boot0 error
- Implemented Bob Roche's boot0 error fix
- Rebooted successfully to the OS X drive
