Hello all!

Yosemite Zone is a distribution of OSX used for Hackintosh OSX86 machines. I have decided to make a progressive tutorial on how to install OSX on the ASUS X200MA-KX292H. This may work on machines with similar specifications.

Make sure you back up your files! I will not be held responsible for things going wrong with your machine.

Note - the specs of this laptop are:

  • Intel Celeron N2830 Dual Core @ 2.16GHz (2.4GHz turbo)

  • 4GB DDR3-1333 RAM

  • 120GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD (usually 500GB WD Blue)

  • Intel HD Graphics

  • 11.6" Screen 1366x768 res

  • Atheros AR946X Wi-Fi 'n' (not sure what Bluetooth 4.0 chip is in there, but it doesn't really matter to me)

  • 1x USB 3.0, 2x USB2.0, Ethernet, VGA, SD Card, Headphone, Kensington Lock, Webcam, HDMI

Another note: I am not entirely sure how this will perform on a weak laptop like this. From my experience, OSX performs terribly with 4GB RAM and a mechanical hard drive. The RAM on this machine is non-upgradable, which is a shame. I will post how it goes, maybe the SSD might alleviate the problem. It also went terribly when I did have an Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 which is a more powerful chip than what I have right now. I will post updates on how it goes. Just hope for the best :) Otherwise I will create a tutorial on how to get OSX 10.9.5 on this because maybe it'll be a tad faster.

Setting up the USB drive:

  1. On your Windows PC, download TransMac from http://www.acutesystems.com/scrtm.htm and install it like you would with any other program.

  2. Download Yosemite Zone from http://hackintosh.zone/hackintosh-downloads/file/545-hackintosh-yosemite-zone/. Make sure you select the DMG version of the file.

Setting up the USB flash drive:

  1. Make sure you have a USB Flash drive with >8GB storage.

  2. Open Transmac. Inside Transmac, select your USB flash drive and right click it, then click 'Restore with Disk Image'.

  3. Hence allow the drive to be formatted, and select the Yosemite-Zone.dmg file. Allow it to proceed.

  4. Reboot the machine.

Setting up the PC:

  1. Enter the BIOS by spamming Esc key. Select Enter Setup.

  2. In the BIOS, disable Secure Boot, disable Fast Boot, Enable CSM. Save the settings.

  3. When you reboot, constantly press the Esc key to enter boot menu. Select the device the installer is in.

  4. When in the bootloader, type in "/amd64 -v" without the quotes.

TO BE CONTINUED. I am currently backing up the SSD on my machine right now, so I will update it as I go on. I will add screenshots as well to help you all out after it's finished.
