Hi friends,
I am a game developer for mobiles. I use Unity 3D for game development. I have a good knowledge of iOS app and game development (CocoaTouch, Cocos2D) for about 3 years.
I love playing games a lot and developing too. I want to ship the games I develop to iOS market via AppStore. For other platforms like Windows, Windows Phone, Android I can develop using a Windows machine.
But I want to invest in a hackintosh which can dual boot Windows (for gaming) and Mac (for game/app development on iOS). I can invest the amount required to build a good working Mac as per TonyMacx86's buyer's guide.
Now coming to the points assuming that I've followed the steps for installation and configuring the hackintosh.
- Can I create IPAs and send it to my clients for testing? Will they work?
- Does XCode and iOS simulator (latest iOS 8.1.3) work perfectly?
- Does the compiler on hackintosh ignore some issues whicle compiling the xcode project than in a real Mac? I mean the errors, warnings are all same?
The reason why I want to go hackintosh way is 1. The recent MacMini's are less powerful as per benchmarks which sport low end, low speed processors because Apple concentrated more on battery than performance. 2. The price - I can have a high end configuration hackintosh with the same price I pay for a basic level mac or iMac. 3. The ability to upgrade the Macs have removed form Apple. I can't even upgrade my RAM. Forget about graphics.
