Would love some feedback and I've got a question or 2.
Here is the build so far. I'll be intalling Yosemite on it, and budget is not a huge concern.
You'll notice there are several parts missing, and that's because I'm going to use:
- Current Monitor (apple cinema display, I'll just get a Mini-to-Displayport adaptor and go right into the GPU)
- I've got 3 sata HDD's in my current mac pro, so I'm just getting 2 SSD's. One for OS and One for a Scratch Disk.
- currently own 2 BD 5.25 burners
- Intensity Pro pcie (already owned)
I've been looking at firewire 800 pcie cards. I don't need 400, so I found this card. Has anyone used this one or anticipate any issues I would have with this card?
Also, for the GPU, you'll see on my list that I picked the GTX 980 4GB SC ACX 2.0. My hack at home runs the GTX 770 4GB SC, and it ran great out of the box. So I don't have experience with using the alternate graphics card drivers and was scared to try on my home build which is why I went with the 770. Has anyone used that model of the GTX 980 for their build successfully? Was getting it to work with the alternate drivers an easy process?
Any tips/advice/things I missed would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!
