Hi,

I can't boot until Niresh's install. I don't have a way to use the non-niresh install because I know literally nobody with a compatible mac. After I get Niresh's install, I was going to go the Unibeast / legit mac route. Instructions I'm following for MOBO: http://www.givemesome.tips/about/hackintosh/nireshs-yosemite-with-intel-amd-installation-instructions-and-guide-160/2/

I used Transmac to format my USB to Yosemite Zone.

Regardless of what USB port (either 2.0 or 3.0) that I stick my flash drive into, I get the same error message.

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert Boot Media"

Here's what I've been able to find and do in terms of MOBO settings for my board, based on Niresh's instructions:

  • Set HPET to one (I did this) and set to 64bit (no option in uefi)

  • Set SATA as AHCI (done)

  • Enable "Executive Disable Bit" (no option)

  • Enable (assuming Intel and not VT -d) Virtualization Technology (done)

  • USB Legacy to ON (done)

  • If UEFI turn of and enable legacy boot (I don't see an option to do this after a couple hours of searching in my UEFI settings, where is this??)

  • Save BIOS and restart (it's in UEFI but I did)

To try to eliminate the possibility of it being formatted wrong with Transmac (apparently there isn't a lot of love for that around here) I tried using my 2006 MBP to format the USB to Mac and install the zone image, but it errors out every time.

Hardware:

  • AsRock Z97 Anniversary Edition

  • i5 4690k

  • Radeon 5770 HD Juniper 1GB (I have a EVGA GTX 970 that I can use to test here)

  • 4 GB 1333mhz Ram

TLDR CANT BOOT FROM USB. Any idea how I can get this to boot? Is there something I'm missing? I've found very limited instructions for motherboard settings for my Asrock board.
