Hey guys,
I can't seem to get the post-installation correct for my build. After multibeast, I still cannot boot from the drive I installed Yosemite on. Booting from USB works 100%.
It doesn't seem like a lot people are using the same motherboard for their builds, so I can't seem to find much help. The closest thing I could find was this:
At the very end, we seem to have the same problem. I've contacted him to see if he was able to work the problem out, but I'm afraid of his activity that he may not respond.
Build
Motherboard: Asus Z97-AR
CPU: i5-4690K
Graphics Card: None atm/integrated
Storage: 250 SSD Primarily for Win7; 1TB HDD: 500GB partitioned for Yosemite.
Other Issues
I've tried to use Clover instead of Multibeast/Chimera and I am able see the EFI in my UEFI's boot order. I can get into the Clover boot loader via F8, however, when I select my OS X drive, I get a black screen with no audio. When I select my Win 7 drive, I get a black screen with the windows audio/chime. Changing the boot order to the EFI, gives me a BIOS warning about secure boot then proceeds to boot Windows 7 by default. Going through my UEFI, I am unable to change the secure boot setting since it is greyed out. Some people suggested filling out the admin/user passwords to have access to the secure boot setting. Unfortunately, that was also fruitless.
Since then, I've reformatted my HDD to retry with Chimera/Multibeast under several different settings. I get no EFI selection in my UEFI's boot order and selecting my HDD to boot via f8 only goes back to my SSD (Win7) to boot.
I'll try to provide more info if needed. Thanks in advance.
