My dad wants me to build him a hackintosh to replace his 2006 Mac Pro. I've built PCs before, but I have not tried to make a hackintosh. I'd like to have some information:

  1. Is this stable enough to be relied on? The user will not be capable of troubleshooting beyond a reboot.

  2. TonyMacx86 makes installing OSX sound easy. Are there any things I should know before trying this?

  3. Would this hardware be good for Adobe graphic design programs (2D only)? My dad expects this to last 5+ years, the budget is whatever it takes within reason. That doesn't mean spend frivolously.

I have informed my dad that this is NOT guaranteed to work and I can only say it will run windows if all else fails.
