I recently converted an Xubuntu 14.04 machine to a HackPro. I'm reporting so as to share with any other intrepid builders and to show appreciation for all the great information I've gathered on this subreddit.
Components: i7 4770k Asus Maximus Gene IV (oh that name is so terrible) 16 GB low profile Corsair Vengeance 1600 mhz Samsung 250 GB "pro" Asus 660 GTX. I used UNIBeast to build a Yosemite 10.10.1 release from my MacBook Air. I followed the vanilla TonyMac install guide to the letter followed by Multibeast. I was up and running in under an hour. Oddly I was told my choice of audio Kexts was "incorrect" but I have full working audio from the mini sound board that is packaged with the motherboard. Also full power management works, I have opted to run Caffeinate 24/7 because I need to login to the machine at odd times during the evening. With respect to stability. 100% stable with one caveat. The machine undergoes an unrecoverable Finder crash once an NTFS drive is connected.
