Might be a stupid question, but I recently got an SSD for Windows..

I got an SSD for storing Windows 8.1 and all my programs, but I'd like to install Yosemite on a spare 1TB HDD. Would I need some kind of patch if I want to install Yosemite on an HDD but have Windows on my SSD? I know it might be a stupid question but, rather be safe then sorry.
