So me and my girlfriend inherited an old Mac G5 a while back. I know the specs were top notch in its hay-day and I was hoping to be able to upgrade it somewhere along the line.
However, before I do, I have a few questions before I consider putting the cash into it.
1) The computer has a load of decent software on that we were hoping to keep, would updating to the most recent iteration of OSX wipe the harddrive and get rid of all the software?
2) Is it possible to mirror exactly the partition with OSX onto another hard drive. E.g. Mirror it onto an SSD and save re-installing everything.
