I just assembled my first Hackintosh over the weekend, using guides from tonymacx86 and Unibeast/Multibeast for instillation. Pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Like everyone else, I'm running into issues with iMessages on 10.10.3. App store, FaceTime and iCloud work just fine, though I'm 99% sure I've narrowed it down to an issue with the ROM and MLB values (which fail using iMessage Debug). Tried the whole calling-the-Apple-care thing (playing dumb girlfriend to skirt around serial issues) and they couldn't help me as I was unable to get a code from iMessage to give them.

So here's the thing: I have a mid-2011 iMac sitting around which I plan to use as a media server, so I have access to valid serial/ROM/MLB values, I just have no idea how to migrate them over. Tried once using Clover bootloader, but that fried my OSX boot and had to reinstall everything from scratch (potentially an issue with nvram.plist). Clover Configurator plain just doesn't work.

I've been Googling for hours and haven't found a solution which can preserve my existing OSX installation. Is there a way to modify a .plist or .ktext file somewhere without using a Hackintosh tool? Or, does anyone have any advice on how I could potentially use the valid serials from my iMac on my Hackintosh?
