I've been trying for a couple weeks to get the install USB stick to boot on this machine. The bar goes about halfway across, then stops. Eventually the computer goes to sleep?!? But I never get the install screen.
The motherboard is an MSI H81M-P33, and originally it had a Haswell Pentium CPU. Thinking my problem MUST be that I needed HD 4600 graphics, I replaced it with an i3-4330 which definitely DOES have HD 4600 graphics. I followed the Clover instructions at TonyMac, and I've played with the BIOS settings. No dice. Also, it will not boot in UEFI mode, only in Legacy mode, despite having formatted the USB stick GUID, and followed the instructions that say to boot it UEFI mode. It just ignores the stick and boots the Linux install on the hard drive.
A viable alternative, suggest a cheap MicroATX board that will Just Work with this CPU I've already purchased.
