Hey everyone,

So I've recently become fond of programming and decided to start writing my first iOS application. I quickly learned that in order to build iOS applications an OSX computer is nearly a necessity, so I decided to convert my old Sony Vaio into a "hackintosh" I've done quite a bit of reading on the process, but couldn't find my laptop listed on any forums.

Here's where I'm different from the normal post, I don't care if most things don't work on my computer. The only thing I need to be able to do is compile Swift in Xcode, and be able to test compatibility on a virtual iOS device. If WiFi doesn't work that's fine, I can use ethernet. I would hope either VGA or HDMI would work, but flexible. And lastly USB ports to be able to use an external mouse/keyboard again flexible.

Specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 (2nd Gen) 2430M / 2.4 GHz
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6470M / Intel HD Graphics 3000 - 512 MB
  • WiFi Card: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230

So without the need for most features, any idea if this will work? I just don't want to start the process only to find out my track pad is incompatible or something. Thanks.
