I've got an i4690K running in an Asus Z97-AR mainboard (with ALC892 audio), with 16GB of RAM, and an Asus branded GTX960. I installed with clover only, no multibeast for post install or anything else.

These are the only additional kexts I'm running: AppleIntelE1000e.kext FakeSMC.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

I have the web install nvidia drivers and they seem to work great...

I'm thinking my poor game performance might be audio related, but I'm not sure where to start to fix this.

I installed this VoodooHDA 2.8.5 package to get my sound working. (It sounds great, none of the hissing or popping I've heard others complain about) - but as far as I can tell it was a driver packaged for Mavericks - and I don't know if that 'is bad' and if there was a better way, I can't find it.

I run Team Fortress 2, I get a solid 300fps when I run in an empty server. When other players are around and explosions and gunshots are happening, I get really noticeable stuttering. I don't know if that's just because of the increased load on the CPU - I suppose that's possible - but I feel like it's so closely tied to the sounds that it must be in the sound driver.

I've got two other concerns/questions, if it isn't likely the sound driver.

I know that in general the 'about this mac' info panel is mostly cosmetic - but it says my RAM is running at 1333Mz (I think that might be what the SPD reports - but in the bios I have it clocked much higher) - And while I obviously want my memory running as quickly as it capable of, I feel like even at 1333mhz, tf2 for example should run like a champ. (if I boot back into windows, it runs like a monster, perfect)

Secondly, my understanding is that the NullCPUPowerManagement Kext is to stop the system from sleeping because it has some difficulty waking up (which I'm totally fine with, I don't care if my system sleeps) - but I'm wondering if either that or the FakeSMC is stopping the CPU speed from ramping up as I am understanding Intel CPUs are supposed to under load. (I could be way off-base with all of this, the 'about this mac' page is certainly showing the correct clock-speed, I'm just not skilled enough in the apple world to know where to look to find the 'real values')

Anyway, I know this has been long-winded and obnoxious, but if you've got any suggestions to throw my way, I'd totally appreciate it.

tl;dr: more powar plz.
