I have a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P motherboard with a 2.67 Core 2 Quad processor. Upgraded from a 1GB nVidia 9800GT to a 2GB nVidia GT640 graphics card a year ago. I have OSX 10.10.4 installed on one 1TB Seagate Barracuda and Windows 10 installed on another 1TB Seagate Barracuda. For internet, I have a mini PCIe Airport card in an adapter for a PCIe slot on my motherboard.
Honestly, I'm happy and surprised that all of the latest software is running so smoothly for such a dated machine. Just wanted to post my success story here to give others hope.
