I can't seem to get the installation working after booting the Yosemite installer. I have a HDD that I wanted to install OS X to, I reformatted it and deleted it as indicated, then I tried to repair with Disk Utility, and when that didn't work I tried to repair it using Single User mode, which told also errored on me and said the disk was "Read Only"? I have no idea what this means, the disk was working fine when I used it as storage on Windows.
So after a bit of googling, it appears that my disk may be somehow damaged and unusable for installing Mac. I tried verifying an external drive and a USB stick as well, and both returned no errors at all, so everything seems to be pointing towards a damaged disk.
Planning to get an SSD drive instead and hopefully that will help, but part of me thinks it might not be a damaged disk since it was working fine and windows returns to error on disk check... Anybody had this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been trying to install this for days :(
