Hello, first reddit post for me here. I've been looking into the modded mac pro from 2009 to bring it up to 5.1 with the xeon 12 core @ 3.46Ghz. I've recently been looking into the possibility of a hackintosh using an i7 4790k. Hackintosh dual socket builds seem to be more complex from what I've read. I guess the issue is clock speed over multi core. Primarily I need as DAW but I don't know what the real world benefits of each choice are over another. Any advice on the choice much appreciated :)
