I needed to make a yosemite hackintosh with thunderbolt. It seemed hard at first but it's very easy.

What you'll need: Any asus motherboard with thunderbolt header A thunderbolt device to test (example: ethernet adapter) Asus thunderboltEX II card Rest of hackintosh hardware

So. It needed yosemte because the audio-card drivers weren't out for el capitan yet. Luckily i had a yosemite insrall disk from someone who used it as a bootloader (because just using an install usb as bootloader is the easiest fix for the boot0 error) So how to install:

1) building: Don't install gpu yet, use iGpu for installing. Only install one ram dimm Install all disks and the thunderbolt card

2) bios settings Disable MSR lock Look if your thunderbolt card is seen Disable vt-d Set os option to "other"

3) (opt) thubderbolt drivers Sometimes the motherboard won't see the thunderbolt card at once. Just install a copy of windows 7 or higher and install the drivers. Mine immediately saw the card so check that first.

A recognized tb card will have lots of options in the bios. If it's not recognizes it won't have any options.

4) install: I used chimera for this because the usb had the chimera installer. You can also use clover or install that later

Plug the usb in to a usb 2.0 (black) port Boot, select the usb (preferably not the uefi version if there are 2 options) as primary boot drive. You do have to do this in another, somewhat hidden menu in the asus bios but it's not too hard.

You'll now be in the chimera loader. Just type this in: -v -no -zp -x The last 3 are not necessary but i like to use them.

Now boot into your usb drive

In the installer, go to disk utility, erase your install drive to extended journaled (give it a different name than your install usb!)

Now install os X on your drive

Continue installation, every time it restarts use -v

5) drivers When installation is finished, ethernet should work. Download multibeast 8.0 (or the last one) and install:

Easybeast (first option) The right ethernet driver (most likely the intel one with the long name) The right audio driver Make it called imac 14.2 for more stable use Install

Now if you have a gpu, now is the time to install fpu drivers. Download the right driver for your version of os X (open "about this mac" and click on the version of os X. Something like 68f28 or so should come up. Now type into Google: nvidia web drivers os x [10.x.x] [the number you just saw] and click the one that has that exact code in the description)

Restart

6) (opt) gpu Go into bios Disable iGpu and select pcie1 (Or the port you want to use) as primary display. Save and exit. Cut power for psu Install gpu Power on Write as boot arguments nvda_drv=1 and -v In os X, select the nvidia driver as main driver. You have to restart. Don't use any bootflags now (you can use -v if you want) If you don't have weird glitches now, it works! (it should go black for a second while powering up and loading, that's the only one)

7) thunderbolt! Power off Plug in a thunderbolt device like an ethernet converter Power on Download NPCIManager Check in NPCIManager if it shows the "thunderbolt bridge" and check if Internet settings (if ethernet cable is the device) sees the cable. If nothing recognizes your card, check connections. A good thing to do is to switch pcie ports. It could help. Also, make sure to not set lower pcie slots to m.2

I hope this helped! Questions are adored by me (: Good luck!
