Hey everybody! Up to this point, I have only hacked laptops. Have three under my belt so far. But I've been itching to build a desktop setup from scratch or at least install OS X on an existing desktop and update/change some of the internals. I'm also in need of a media PC. In that department, I've been using a first generation Apple TV hacked to run Kodi and streaming from an external HD (I know this seems so old school and kinda wonky, but hey, I didn't even have a flat panel TV until a couple months ago and I bought the Apple TV three years ago thinking I could use it with my fat old sdtv... We use what we got, right? hahaha) So I've been doing some research for the last week or two and came across some threads about running 10.8 Mountain Lion on an HP Compaq SFF Elite 8000. A lot of people seem to be excited about this desktop and after some more research, I decided to pick one up, along with a Sapphire ATI Radeon 5450 graphics card, 16GB of ram, a 1TB SSHD and a power cord. I am going to be installing 10.11 using Enoch for the install, and installing Clover post install to the HD. I'll post a link to the parts and let me know what you all think and I'll be posting updates and questions as I go along I'm sure. Can't wait til these parts come, very excited!!!!

And since I was building with budget in mind, the grand total for this came out to $243.83. I'm happy with that!
