Hello,
I'm new to Hackintosh and Macs in general. I came across a 2nd SSD and decided to install it in my rig and set it up with El Capitan so that I can dual boot between Windows/MacOS.
I followed tonymacx86's guide here
I'm having issues now with booting into MacOS. Do I need to go into Clover every time I want to boot into it? When I go into my boot options when powering on my computer, it gives me a list of several drives:
"UEFI OS (SATA port/SSD model name)". This gets me into Clover. When I select "Boot Mac OS X from El Capitan", I get the Apple logo with the loading bar but then the screen goes black. I've tried doing this with the nv_disable=1 boot flag, and this gets me in. I've installed the NVIDIA graphics drivers for my OS version, but even then it seems the only resolution option I have is 1280x1024. I have a 34" monitor and this resolution is brutal. Did I mess up somewhere with the drivers installation?
"My SSD drive name". When I select this drive, it skips it and goes straight into Windows boot
So I guess I have one real issue and one question:
Do I need to use Clover every time I want to boot into El Capitan, or is there something I can do to make selecting the SSD that the Mac OS is installed on work when in the boot menu?
How can I get this to work with my GTX 980? It will only boot when I use the nv_disable=1 flag, and without it, it boots into a black screen
Thanks for reading and helping :)
