My Gigabyte motherboard has been causing me issues and have decided to get a new motherboard, problem is I'm not as up to date with the motherboard features present and which give the best value for money, nor which are going to give me a flawless experience.

Currently I have a Gigabyte Z87-HD3 board which works wonderfully OOB with El Capitan and I've narrowed down my choices to either the ASUS Z97-AR (£85 w/Free 120GB SSD), ASUS Z97-A (£120) or the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 (£112).

Looking at the specifications for the Z97-AR (not on buyer's guide) they're the same as the Z97-A model which IS on the Buyer's Guide so THEORETICALLY there shouldn't be a problem. I'm more concerned with the MSI board due to the KILLER Ethernet, which I've seen a mix-match of success with BUT it IS on the Buyer's Guide.

Can anyone reccomend me a decent motherboard which will work pretty much out of the box, with minimal fuss and no BIOS patching or similar to get functions working.
