i7 4790k Asus z97 - PRO GAMER 850 EVO SSD (250 GB) 16GB
Yesterday was like xmas morning! Final parts arrived and I commenced the grand un-boxing. Put everything together (except GPU - waiting til operating systems & drivers are installed) and I have Asus' BIOS 2.16.1240 is running smoothly.
Installed El Cap with no extra drivers on a 32GB USB using Unibeast 6 on a separate OSX machine. The completed USB has two EFI folders, and the OSinstaller.app
Plug USB into a 2.0 port, power up into BIOS * Intel Virtualization Tech disabled * Secure Boot Mode disabled * OS type other Os * Boot Option #1 USB * Save & Exit ... black screen ... LED on USB is flashing ... BIOS again.
This is my first build and first real experience configuring BIOS - am I missing something obvious in telling the system to run off the USB? Or could something be missing on the installer? I've tried holding F8 on boot and selecting the USB, this also takes me back into BIOS.
I'm pretty much completely lost here! It's discouraging to hit such a roadblock right out of the gate. Any and all feedback or guidance would be hugely appreciated.
