So a friend is in need of a laptop for college, and wants me to find him a laptop that's more powerful for the price than a macbook pro like they mildly suggested. I'm wondering if either of these can be made into a hackintosh?
MSI GP72 2QD-086CA Leopard 17.3-Inch Laptop, Black.
Lenovo Flex 3 14-Inch Touchscreen Laptop
If not, we can run OSX in a VM if we must, but it'd be better to have a Win10/Mac OSX dualboot.
(If you're questioning my picking judgement, feel free to offer something better. I just know it's going to be used for video editing, and from what little I know about it, 8GB RAM should be taken to be safe, as well as a decent CPU.)
I have run OSX in a VM myself, and although I know very little about Mac OSX, I do know Linux (Yes I know OSX is BSD based in some way, but it's kinda similar.. sort of..), so if any special steps need to be taken to get it working, we just need to know them.
Also if both can be made into hackintoshes, which do you think would be better for him? The MSI one has a 940M in it, so it can handle some gaming, which would be nice since he's selling the gaming PC I built for him, since he needs portability, so I think that's probably the better option.
Thanks :D
