Can't upgrade to El Capitan. Any advice?

I have a near-perfect build booting through Clover. Messages works. All my software runs. Its pretty much perfect, except that its still on Yosemite.

I've tried the various methods listed on TonyMac: I've tried editing the adding the kexts and editing the config file to direct upgrade. I've tried creating a USB installer and upgrading with that. Each time, when it tries to boot the OS installer, I end up with a circle with a slash through it on the screen. I even tried removing the graphics card and just using on the on-board graphics. Still the same result.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've followed all the directions to a T.

My build:

• MB: Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3

• CPU: Intel i7 3.41 GHz

• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2047 MB
