Hey hackers,
Firstly, I am a noob and this is my first ever PC build and hackintosh install. I am intending on using the hac for music production and programming (eventually wanna install Linux). Anyways, I am seeking the wisdom of this community to help me overcome a hurdle that I cannot figure out at this point :(
SPECS: -gigabyte Z170x-gaming3 -Intel i5 6600k -evga GTX970 ACX2.0

I had a mostly successful install, but the graphics card was not working completely, though recognized (with 4mb usage of 4gb), and this is where I got lost and fucked up. I did everything out of order after this point, had poor working knowledge of kexts, where/how to enter the nvda boot flags, and more. Now I get kernel panic when trying to boot El Cap. I am only able to boot in safe mode. After hours/days of frustration, I left it and took a week away from it.
Knowing I fucked it up beyond my ability to tweak and configure, I thought it best to do more research, then do a clean install with new clover configs/new usb boot based on this guide: http://ift.tt/1S6tS56
However, I do not know how/if I need to override/wipe my ssd so I can start from scratch and use my new boot drive.
I've read about GParted but not sure if I need to/should do this.
Please excuse if I used terminology incorrectly.
