Ok guys, here’s my tentative parts list for the PC I’m planning on building: http://ift.tt/1rqXzrH

The plan is to build a dual boot Windows/Hackintosh. It’s my first time building a PC, but looking forward to the challenge of building a Hackintosh! I’ve been using tonymacx86.com as my main reference for researching parts.

Now I’m looking to get approval from you guys that this is a sound build and to see if you spot any apparent problems.

  • I know there’s a problem with using Corsair Link with Hackintosh, but there are a few solutions floating about google.
  • Wondering what you guys think about the mobo and graphics card I picked. Good, bad, or better options?
  • I’m only going with 8GB of RAM for now, but probably will get another stick later on.
  • Windows and OS X will go on their own SSD.
  • Getting a DAC just in case I run into audio issues.
  • Planning on to just use my TV as monitor for now (ugh).

I’ll be using my PC for things like photography editing (Lightroom/Photoshop), large panoramic stitching/blending (PTGui/Smartblend), Astrophotography (image aligning and stacking), and just normal stuff like browsing the web, watching videos, video editing, etc.. Might get into CAD programs like Solidworks. Not sure how much gaming I’ll be doing at first because for now I have an XB1, but probably more later on. I have an older iMac and MacBook, so this Hackintosh won’t be my only mac if thinks go awry.

Anyway, thanks for any input. I know some of you guys find these types of “help me with my build” post annoying. I just need to bounce my build plan off someone that knows a thing or two about this stuff.
