Could anyone tell me why (and/or how to fix) LaCie drives using USB 3 freeze my hackintosh immediately, but my G-drive USB3 works just fine? Is there something special about the G-drive or LaCie that I don't know? I've tried multiple LaCie's with the same results. The only thing I can think of that's different besides the brand is that the LaCie's are bus powered while the G-Drive needs external power. Could that be the issue? I don't have any other externally powered drives to test this with.
