Whenever I use spotlight on my laptop it's very fast. However even though I have a more powerful desktop using spotlight is fairly pointless as it's so slow. Everytime I go to use it I spins up all my other internal (sata) hard drives. It seems to search the actually Mac SSD last and so gives the wrong results until after has woken up all the other drives.
Is there a way to get spotlight (or just OS generally) to ignore the other drives? - I only really use them with plex
