Started this project on Friday afternoon, after getting bored of Windows.

First, I did a lot of reading. I read about different methods, what hardware to use, and if my rig is even compatible. Turns out, it is, and is pretty easy to do.

I tried using Niresh's method, but it just failed. Wouldn't boot, wouldn't install, nothing I would do would get past the last 10% of the install process. I gave up, defeated and aggravated.

I returned the next day, and installed Niresh in a virtual machine using Virtual Box. This worked pretty easily, and proved that I can at least do it. It wasn't enough though, I wanted natively installed OS X. The performance given wasn't up to what I wanted.

So... I looked up unibeast and multibeast. This was my saving grace.

Using my VM, I downloaded Yosemite through the App Store, then created the bootable USB using Unibeast 6.1.1. This didn't work. Wouldn't even boot into the bootloader, no matter what I tried. After some intense Googling, I discovered that some people have an issue with the Clover bootloader. So, I downloaded and used Unibeast 5.2.0, with Chimera. Created the USB, plugged it into a USB2 port, restarted, booted from USB, and...

Boot! It booted into the bootloader. I was making traction. I tried to be bold and just boot with no flags, it failed within 10 minutes.

So, I did some more research. Booted using -v, -x, -s, nv_disable=1, and nv_drv=1. It booted into the installer, after mounting the root drive as read/write, and I began the installation process. After installing, I ran Multibeast, set up my kexts, crossed my fingers, and rebooted.

Failure. Hung at 20%.

Booted up again using the same flags as above, and got in! Downloaded and installed Nvidia Web Driver 346.02.03f01, rebooted, and finally, after three days of typing, reading, and rebooting, I have a fully working, fast, and stable install of OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite.

My system specs, for those interested:

Mobo: Gigabyte H97M-D3H
CPU: Intel i5 4460
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston Hyper Fury X 1600MHz
GPU: MSI GTX970 Twin Frozr V
SSD: Samsung EVO 850 120GB (Has Windows 10 on it)
HDD: 2x1TB WD Black (mass storage), 2x500GB Samsung 2.5" (one of which has OS X)
PSU: Corsair CX500

Fully able to dual-boot Win10 and OS X, both run great. Got a gaming rig on one side and everything else on the other.

Just want to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum and over at tonymac86 - you've all helped more than you will know!
